They denounce that the overcrowding of the Line 31 bus causes Puente Tocinos causes cases of anxiety and fainting among users (06/02/2020)

The PSOE describes as "insensitive" a City Council that looks the other way in the face of the bad conditions of public transport in the districts

It requires greater frequency of buses at rush hour, single ticket price throughout the municipality and sustainable means that prevent pollution

The general secretary of the Socialist Association of Puente Tocinos, Lola Jara, has denounced that the crowded conditions that the users of the urban bus of Line 31 support at peak hours, caused yesterday a situation of anxiety and dizziness of several older people and the generalized protest of those who moved in it.

Jara has reported that only two lines service every half hour to the districts of El Raal, Alquerías, Santa Cruz, Llano de Brujas and Puente Tocinos during the busiest hours of travelers.

These populations represent a total of 36,896 inhabitants, with the majority of users on weekdays being women who travel to the city to work or carry out sanitary procedures and university students, since line 31 crosses a part of the city center and ends his journey on the University Campus.

The majority of travelers have repeatedly expressed before the City Council the usual delay of both this line and 32, which forces them to advance up to one hour waiting for the bus to guarantee punctuality to their work centers, classes or medical appointments from the Reina Sofía hospital where all the inhabitants of the aforementioned districts are attached.

Such delays are motivated by the number of people who join the established stops, so that halfway, especially at peak times, travelers travel as "canned sardines."

Many of them can not even access, because the bus does not stop at some stops due to the impossibility of including one more person.

These circumstances caused a sad situation yesterday, given that several older people suffered anxiety and dizziness, being treated by other travelers.

According to some of those affected, they were "piled up like animals, unable to move not only, but also to breathe."

Unexpectedly the driver of bus 31 stopped the vehicle a few moments before the widespread protest of the users.

The PSOE of Puente Tocinos has strongly criticized "the incompetence of the current government team, which insensitive to such circumstances has ignored the motions approved by the Municipal Board of said district, in which a higher frequency of buses was requested at peak times , a single price ticket throughout the municipality and sustainability of buses ".

For Lola Jara, it is intolerable that the inhabitants of the districts are punished having to pay 1.85 cents per ticket, while on the city routes it is 1.05.

Also, that they are condemned to have less frequent buses on a daily basis, on weekends and specifically on specific days such as the Fair, the weekly Murcia market, and other mass events.

He has shown his outrage at "the humiliation of the piling up of users, treated as cattle and leaving many people" lying "at the stops in the absence of space," he said.

It has also lashed out against the discrimination of the districts in the absence of sustainable buses that avoid the repercussions on the health of its inhabitants as a result of pollution.
