The eighth edition of the Dramatic Reading Club of the Romea / TCM theaters starts (04/02/2020)

This week opens the registration period to participate in the eighth edition of the Dramatic Reading Club of the Romea / TCM theaters, for which three shifts will be enabled again for each day of reading (12, 18 and 20 hours).

Over the next few months, participants will be able to read four of the texts that will be performed in Murcia theaters, discussing them and then analyzing their staging.

Very different texts have been selected for this activity, some of them unpublished.

In the first session, scheduled for next February 25, it is proposed to launch a different look at the stories of Edgar Allan Poe through the text 'Tic-Tac Poe', by the Murcian playwright Miguel Galindo, who along with the Cartagena company La Murga, enters with this assembly in the deep and disturbing world of the writer and in his last hours of life.

The second text will be 'The Children', by the young British playwright Lucy Kirkwood (March 13).

Very committed to the current situation on the planet, the writer analyzes in this text "the ecological legacy" that will be left to the new generations.

For its staging, 'Los Niños' has been adapted by David Serrano, also in charge of directing Adriana Ozores, Susi Sánchez and Joaquín Climent on the boards of Romea.

With the third session of the Dramatic Reading Club, and by the hand of 'Old friend Cicero', the participants will enter fully into the life of the famous Roman speaker Marco Tulio Cicero.

It will be April 16.

The playwright and also stage director Ernesto Caballero enters with this text in the great historical character and moral integrity of those who maintain the coherence of their political convictions even in the most adverse circumstances.

The assembly, which will be seen at the Romea Theater, will be starring José María Pou.

Finally, the June 4 session will be dedicated to 'Girls and boys', a different and daring text.

It is a female monologue written by award-winning writer Dennis Kelly;

author of the cult series 'Utopia' and the version of the musical 'Mathilda', and which will be staged by Lucia Miranda (director) and Antonia Paso (actress) at the TCM.

As in previous occasions, the reading of the text will be commented in the pre-representation session.

After viewing the show, in the next session, the staging and the following text will be discussed, thus motivating active and participatory reading about the different elements that can compose a dramatic text.

Applications to participate in the Dramatic Reading Club may be submitted between February 4 and 7, 2020 at the Ticket Office of the Teatro Circo Murcia, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. hours.

The lists with the applications for registration will be published on February 11 and all the information is available on the TCM website and social networks.
