The ODSessions project of the UMU organizes around twenty activities around decent work (03/02/2020)

will meet tomorrow representatives of the regional government, employers and unions in Labor Sciences |

The ODSesiones project of the University of Murcia (UMU), framed in the project to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), organizes from February 4 to 28 a dozen activities around SDG 8 'Decent work and economic growth ', which will take place in the Labor Sciences faculties of the Espinardo Campus and the Isen center of Cartagena, attached to the UMU.

The first activity will be held on Tuesday, February 4, starting at 10.30 am on the terrace of Labor Sciences, where an NGO fair will take place in which thirteen entities from the third sector will participate.

It will be followed by the paper 'Social justice and decent work in the Sustainable Development Goals', in which the director of the International Labor Organization's office for Spain, Joaquín Nieto, will analyze, at 11 am in the lounge of acts of this same faculty, the labor market at the national level.

The debate table entitled 'Is there decent work in the Region of Murcia?', Moderated by the rector of the UMU, José Luján, will be held from 11.30 to 13.30.

The General Director of Social Dialogue and Labor Welfare, Manuela Marín, will take part in this table;

the dean of the Faculty of Labor Sciences, Prudencio José Riquelme;

the president of CROEM, José María Albarracín;

the president of UCOMUR, Juan Antonio Pedreño;

the general secretary of the UGT Region of Murcia, Antonio Jiménez;

and the general secretary of the UGT Region of Murcia, Antonio Jiménez.

The labor market, under review

On Wednesday, February 5, from 4 to 6 pm, the talk 'The transformation of work and the crisis of the 21st century' will take place, in classroom 1.2 of the Faculty of Labor Sciences.

In this session, the UMU professor Germán Carrillo will address the social, economic, political, cultural and environmental repercussions of the restructuring of the current labor market.

The ODSessions program will continue on Thursday, February 6 at 6:00 pm in the hall of Labor Sciences with the presentation of the publication 'Labor market of the Region of Murcia in data', in which representatives of the College of Social Graduates, the Human Management Association of the Region of Murcia and the Association of Employment Agents and Local Development of the Region of Murcia.

Labor insertion

On Friday, February 7, the collaboration agreement between the FAMDIF / COCEMFE-MURCIA organizations and the City of Murcia will be presented at 11 am.

This first week of activities will conclude from 11.30 am with a round table on the experiences of labor insertion in various groups, such as FUNDOWN, CERMI, ADEIMUR or the FAMDIF itself.

Both activities will be held in the auditorium of Labor Sciences.

After carrying out thematic activities on the 'End of poverty' (SDG 1), 'Zero hunger' (SDG 2), 'Health and Welfare' (SDG 3), 'Quality education' (SDG 4) and 'Gender equality '(SDG 5),' Clean water and sanitation '(SDG 6) and' Affordable and non-polluting energy '(SDG 7), this February, SDG sessions focus on decent work.
