The vehicles of the Municipal Mobile Park that have fulfilled their useful life will be recycled as scrap.
This was approved today by the Government Board that has awarded lot III of the contract for the disposal of disused vehicles of the Mobile Park of the City of Murcia, corresponding to those weighing more than 2,500 kilograms, to the company Chatarras Moreno for 6,200 Euros
The successful tenderer must remove the six existing vehicles in the facilities where they are located, within a maximum period of 15 business days from the moment they are made available.
What is intended is to reuse or recycle all the components of these vehicles getting a new life to a product and reducing emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
In addition to this action, from the City Council there is also scrap through vehicles removed by default or by infraction by the Local Police.
Thus the owners have a period of two months from the notification to remove the vehicle and, if they do not, they are transferred to an authorized manager to be converted into scrap metal.
Last year about 500 vehicles were recycled by this procedure.
