The Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Murcia (UMU) has presented this Thursday the prizes of the photo contest on renewable energies;
framed in the activities of the ODS project sessions on SDG 7 'Affordable and non-polluting energy'.
The student of the Faculty of Documentation and Communication Lucía Bernal won the first prize, thanks to an image of the photovoltaic field of Molina de Segura.
The author has explained that she decided to take this picture "because the future of energy goes through the commitment to renewables, especially high efficiency devices such as solar panels," he explained.
For its part, the second prize went to the student of the Faculty of Chemistry Marta Abellán, thanks to a photograph taken at the stand of Energy Engineering of the UMU in the last edition of the Week of Science and Technology.
In the image it is seen in the foreground of a pan warming up by the incidence of the sun's rays.
This contest has been jointly promoted by three UMU faculties: Mathematics, Computer Science and Chemistry, and the winning photos have been chosen by the university community itself.
The winning image has a prize of 200 euros, while the second prize has a prize of 100 euros.
The dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Pascual Lucas, and the coordinator of Social Responsibility, Inés López, presented the awards at the Math Acts Hall.
ODSessions aims to raise awareness, sensitize and promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals between the university community and Murcia society.
This is a project that organizes more than 300 activities until April 2021 and is sponsored by the regional government, Aguas de Murcia, Bankia and the Cajamurcia Foundation.
