CEIP Barriomar welcomes the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the MUSE Program that seeks inclusion through the arts (29/01/2020)

The Councilor for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, accompanied by Senator Violante Tomás, attended this morning the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the MUSE Program developed by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Spain.

This initiative, which is developed in educational centers, including CEIP Barriomar, seeks inclusion through the arts by promoting the use of music, singing, theater, dance or plastic arts as a tool that promotes tolerance and prevents violent behavior or racism.

The work is carried out through theater, dance, music and plastic arts workshops, taught by artists with pedagogical experience, in which the participating children are tried to channel their creativity, reinforce their self-esteem and improve their vision of the school environment.

This is one of the different actions in which the Department of Social and Family Rights collaborates with vulnerable minors.

Thus, from the City Council the Children's Activities Project stands out, where tolerance, respect, gender issues and all children's rights are worked through leisure and free time .;

the Caixa Proinfancia Program or the Summer Schools.
