Coello: "The objective of the Women's Race is to reflect the rise of women in sport and to demand equal rights and opportunities" (27/01/2020)

The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, has responded to the socialist councilor Teresa Franco that "the only ones who fold to others are the members of the PSOE who have done so with the independence, podemites and now with ministers of banana republics."

Coello added that "maybe Mrs. Franco could have asked before publicly offending. The 8M can be celebrated in many ways and sport and health is surely one of the most beautiful ways to do it, since the role of women in sport is increasingly evident. The objective of this Women's Race is precisely to reflect the rise of women in sport and to demand equal rights and opportunities. "

"The election of the date to celebrate the Women's Race is a decision of the newspaper La Opinión which are the organizers of the event and who proposed this date as ideal," said the councilor.

The mayor has asked Councilwoman Franco if "he has not produced hives that his party bends to extremist parties and illegitimate ministers. We are calm because we have not folded to the extreme right."

"There is no torturous intention on the part of this Corporation because we have already demonstrated that our policies pursue the visibility of women and gender equality," said Coello.

The councilor has concluded by saying that "the claim for equality is not from the PSOE, it belongs to all women regardless of political ideologies."
