The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, directed by José Guillén, is carrying out the pruning work of the more than 10,000 rose bushes in the municipality of Murcia.

These tasks are carried out leaving between 20 and 30 centimeters of the soil to encourage the flowering of these species from April, with the arrival of spring.

The work is carried out by a team of professionals from the STV-Actúa concessionary company, which have vineyard, hand scissors and protective elements, adapted to the regulations for the prevention of occupational hazards, to avoid any possible damage.

Among the places that have the greatest number of rose bushes in the municipality of Murcia are, among others, the Floridablanca Garden, the Silk, the Pool, Cabezo de Torres or Alquerías.

Also, one of the most attractive spaces of these roses is the González Conde de Murcia Square.

In the event that during the pruning of these rose bushes it is observed that, due to the cold or some pathology, some has dried up, the incidence is recorded to proceed to its replacement and thus return the color to that green area where it was previously planted.

These pruning will continue until the beginning of the month of February, to get to see, again, all its colors and beauty in the month of April.

“The improvement and maintenance of our green areas is daily and constant.

These neighborhood meeting spaces contribute in a positive way to the quality of life of the citizens there, which is a priority for their set-up and care, â€said Councilman José Guillén, who this morning has been visiting the work being undertaken in the hamlet of El Puntal.
