The Department of Tourism of Murcia participates in this edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) with an agenda for the promotion of the city as a tourist destination and as the venue for all kinds of professional events for which a new video has been presented Promotional of the city, 'Murcia: a city, a thousand lives ", which includes the main reasons to choose the capital of Segura as a tourist destination.
Within this promotional action, the Tourism Agency of Murcia Convention Bureau attends this year the second edition of FITUR B2B MICE, integrated within the delegation of the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia (ITREM) where it has shown the activities for groups of incentives available in the city and the wide range of spaces for events.
In this specific event of congress tourism, thirty meetings have been held with travel agencies and organizers from countries such as the United Kingdom, Poland, Russia and China, interested in knowing new destinations for events and incentive trips.
In support of MICE tourism, the City of Murcia has signed an agreement with Renfe that contemplates discounts of up to 35% for travelers attending professional events in the city with the aim of encouraging Murcia to host congresses and conventions,
Regional cuisine has focused much of the tourism promotion on the current participation in Fitur, where Murcia has collected the witness of Almeria as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2020. For this reason the city will be a meeting point for a series of gastronomic events that under the motto of 'La Huerta de los 1.001 flavors', it will promote the values â€‹â€‹of Murcian cuisine.
The work agenda in Fitur has also included meetings with national and foreign tour operator companies interested in including Murcia as a destination for urban, cultural and gastronomic tourism.
In Fitur 2020, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, more than 11,000 companies from 65 countries participate, which during these days will receive the visit of 142,000 professionals in the tourism sector.
