Students and faculty members of the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Law of the University of Murcia have attended, together with the Cepaim Foundation, the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to attend the Universal Periodic Review of Spain.

The Clínica Jurídica and Fundación Cepaim prepared a report for this exam to which Spain has been submitted this January.

During their visit to Geneva, the participants in the expedition met Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

In the Universal Periodic Review, the other member states of the United Nations Human Rights Council assess the situation of human rights in the country and point out the opportunities and challenges still pending.

This evaluation is carried out based on reports from the Spanish State itself and from civil society organizations and other institutions such as university legal clinics.
