The program 'The neighborhood moves' takes the sport to the squares of the Eastern Central District (21/01/2020)

The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, together with the president of the Municipal Board of the Eastern Central District, Lorenzo Tomás, today presented the calendar of activities 'The neighborhood moves', which will be held in February in the various squares of the neighborhoods of San Bartomolé, San Lorenzo Catedral, San Juan, La Merced and Santa Eulalia de Murcia.

In this way, the program includes a host of activities for all audiences: female self defense, functional training, dance, karate and children's yoga, various games, pilates, rumba fitness, HITT dance and Latin HITT, Greco-Roman wrestling, gymnastics for people seniors, gymnastics adapted to people with disabilities, cooking workshop for children, as well as information sessions on anthropometric assessment and nutrition.

The activities will take place during four Saturdays in different spaces during the morning, from 11 am to 2 pm: on February 1 in the Plaza de Santo Domingo and on February 8, 15 and 22 in the squares of Europe, Santa Eulalia , San Juan and Cristo del Rescate.

"The objective of this program is to ensure that physical exercise is part of the day-to-day life of citizens, to make sport an accessible activity for all and to be present in each of our public spaces," said the councilor.

In addition, the mayor of Sports and Health explains that “this initiative helps raise awareness about healthy living habits, contributes to neighborhood participation, involving all groups and people of different ages, and that gives impetus to the economic activity of the zone".

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Sports, the Parks, Music and Action program and the board of the Central-Eastern District, collaborates with the implementation of this program that also has the sponsorship of various local businesses and businesses (Radio Murcia brand, Television Murciana, Wave 3 Carrefour, Hero, La Colegiala, Econatura, Fraskito, GCMUR, Coinbroker and Solcopy).
