Meeting with representatives of neighborhood groups affected by the underground (20/01/2020)

The delegate of the Government and the head of the Ministry of Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda in Murcia, have held a meeting this afternoon with representatives of neighborhood groups affected by the works of the burial of the roads as they pass through the city of Murcia.

Among them, members of the Neighborhood Associations of the Barrio del Carmen, Santiago el Mayor, San Pio, Ronda Sur, Hermitage of Remedies, Barriomar, the Pro-Soterramiento platform and members of the AMPAS.

In this meeting the process of execution of the works has been explained, as well as the planned planning of the works.

Likewise, the next call of the Social Commission for Monitoring the Underground, with the participation of the Autonomous Community and the City of Murcia, has been reported.

This meeting was attended by various ADIF technicians, who have answered the questions of the neighborhood representatives regarding the development process that is being carried out in the works.

They have also been informed that they will be visiting them shortly, coordinated with the local, regional and state administrations, to which the associations that have been present at this afternoon's meeting will also be called.

The neighbors have expressed their interest so that there is maximum diligence in the execution of the works, since they affect their daily life in a decisive way.

They have also requested the commitment of the completion of the entire underground of Murcia from Senda de los Garres to Nonduermas, regardless of the arrival of the AVE to the provisional station of El Carmen at level -8.

They have also required to ensure permeability, once the works at the level crossing of Santiago el Mayor have been completed, as well as the increase in security on the perimeter of the platform as work continues, and greater assistance to merchants in the area , whose businesses are being affected by this process.

The Government delegate has stated that the works continue the planned course and has expressed the maximum commitment of the Government of Spain through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda in the completion of the works, and has indicated that it will channel the demands expressed before the corresponding agencies and administrations.
