The PSOE proposes to establish the telematic vote in the Plenary Session of the City Council for councilors in exceptional situations of leave or family care (20/01/2020)

The Socialist Municipal Group, in one more step to achieve real equality between men and women, proposes that the telematic vote be established in the Plenary Session of the City Council of Murcia so that the councilors and councilors in a special situation of retirement or family care can continue fulfilling part of its professional obligations.

The socialist councilor Teresa Franco, who will defend a motion in the next plenary session in this regard, affirms that "it is not only a question of guaranteeing and preserving equality, but of contributing to the appropriate conditions for a true reconciliation of working life and familiar. "

In this regard, he says that "an organization so close to the citizen, such as the City Council, must be exemplary. We cannot advocate for equality and conciliation policies and we do not practice it; the councilors and councilors, with their availability, their obligations and their responsibilities they are also citizens who have the same rights as the rest. "

In addition, he adds, "all the groups of the Corporation must pronounce themselves so that society is clear about the position of each one."

The councilor emphasizes that in today's society the new information and communication technologies (ICT), "facilitate social and political life but, while legislating so that the reconciliation of personal, family and work life is a reality in in many areas, we find that public offices cannot enjoy this right by requiring full 24-hour availability. "

In addition, at present it can be realized that councilors and councilors participate remotely and vote telematically in plenary sessions if they are on sick leave or leave for birth and care.

This has been seen by other organizations such as the Congress of Deputies, Community of Madrid, municipalities of Madrid, Alcobendas, Huelva, Zamora, San Martin de la Vega, Seville, Valencia or Pontevedra. "
