Patiño tomorrow celebrates the XXXII Gang Meeting with music, dances and 100,000 balls (11/01/2020)

The day will begin at 9 am, with the typical chocolate-based breakfast with churros, in the Church Square

Patiño tomorrow celebrates the XXXII Gang Meeting, which will bring together more than 10,000 attendees, organized by the La Hijuela Huerta club in memory of Manuel Cárceles, 'El Patiñero';

an event in which more than 100,000 balls will be offered to attendees made by Patiño homes.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, along with members of the Municipal Corporation, will attend this party, “with which Patiño becomes the center of our culture, as it awakens the attention of thousands of neighbors and visitors, and aspires to be declared of Regional Tourist Interest â€.

In the XXXII Encuentro de Cuadrillas, which coincides with the capital of Murcia as a reference in Spanish gastronomy, six groups will participate, who will interpret Murcian characteristic music and dances, such as the jotas, malagueñas and seguidillas, which are the Cuadrilla de Patiño, Aledo Gang, Purias Lorca Gang, Torreagüera Gang, Almeria Chirivel Gang and the San Blas de Bullas Animeros.

The program of the event will start at 9:00 a.m., with chocolate-based breakfast with churros, in the Church Square.

The Mass of Aguilando, sung by Cuadrillas, will take place at 10:00 a.m.

At its end, at 11:30 am, the participating neighbors and crews will move to the stage of the Manuel Cárceles Boulevard 'El Patiñero', where the performances will begin.

Subsequently, after approximately 2:30 p.m., we will proceed to the distribution of balls with broth and local products for the attendees.

In total, 17 groups of 'Peloteras' have prepared this dish.

At the end of the meal, the dances and music will resume, about 4 pm.

The First Gang Meeting was held in January 1989, in the Plaza de la Iglesia de Patiño, attended by the gangs of Zarzadilla de Totana, Fuente Álamo, Aledo, Las Palas, Raiguero de Totana, Vélez Rubio, de la Peña La Silk and the Patiño Gang.

The event was coordinated by Manuel Cárceles, 'El Patiñero', who established the foundations of this event together with the current directive of the Hueñana peña La Hijuela.
