The City Council joins the SDG Forum on Sustainable Development of the University of Murcia (10/01/2020)

The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, has approved the general protocol of action for the constitution of the Forum on Sustainable Development Ossessions, promoted by the University of Murcia.

The University of Murcia is carrying out this project to disseminate the Sustainable Development Goals that will be developed until 2021 and that, so far, has been addressed to the university community.

Now, and with this agreement, it is sought to open it to all Murcian society in order to work for the sustainable development of the city.

Adherence to the SDG Forum of Sustainable Development, which brings together companies, educational institutions, public administrations, unions and Third Sector entities committed to this same purpose, will increase the capacity of the City of Murcia in its approach to the SDGs.

During the remaining months of the project, numerous activities will be organized jointly, such as cultural activities, conferences, art exhibitions, learning workshops, volunteer programs ...

The strategies and plans necessary to promote the Sustainable Development Goals throughout the regional sphere will also be discussed and implemented.

In this way, an alliance between the two institutions is established to raise public awareness about each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda.

The signing of this protocol will take place next Tuesday, January 14, in the Convalescence building of the University of Murcia.
