The PSOE criticizes that the PP blames the collective of the municipality for not having received its subsidies today (09/01/2020)

The Socialist Municipal Group has warned that there are many groups and organizations in the municipality of Murcia that today have not received the subsidies approved in the 2019 Budgets, despite the fact that the deadline was December.

Therefore, "the government team has decided to remove an unprecedented trick from the sleeve consisting of modifying the deadlines so that they can charge them in the first half of 2020," explains the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano.

"The alarming thing is that this extension of the term, which will force the groups that have already done the work to pay with months of delay, that have acquired economic commitments and that must pay payrolls in many cases, is that the government team blames the same groups, "says the spokesman.

In this regard, the agreement of last December 20 to modify the aforementioned deadlines states that upon entering into force the Budget last year in November 2019 has left a short margin for the processing and granting of subsidies and "this has led to that has been delayed to the month of December, so that the beneficiary entities do not have the material time to be able to execute the actions financed through these grants in the year 2019 and much less to justify their payment. "

Given this, Serrano warns that from the Socialist Group we have claimed on different occasions that the Budgets are approved in December, although "in any case, we are facing nominative subsidies, which represent hundreds of thousands of euros and are planned well in advance. It is necessary to stop throwing balls out, the responsibility is always of the one who has the power of decision and, in this case, we are facing a new example of incapacity in the municipal management ".

"This situation creates great uncertainty and insecurity among the groups that do a commendable and essential work because they do not know when they will charge for the services provided," says the spokesman, who asks "in these conditions, what organizations dare to commit with an activity that needs municipal support to develop? "

It also states that "if the delay is serious, we are concerned about where the government team will get the money for subsidies not paid for its inefficiency."

He warns that the 2020 Budget, of which we do not know anything at this point, has to assume the amounts of the 2019 aid. "We want organizations to charge as soon as possible because it is their right and we will be vigilant to do so, but we will also be alert so that it is not at the cost of cuts in services or necessary investments. "

The socialist spokesman recalls the motion passed in 2015, at the initiative of the PSOE, for the elaboration of a Strategic Grant Plan, in which objectives and deadlines were specified, which has not been met and that "could avoid these situations that only bring damages for the organizations and groups of the municipality "
