Murcia beats a new record on New Year's Eve reaching a hotel occupancy of over 87% and an average price of € 65 (03/01/2020)

Tourism in Murcia has experienced a record figure during New Year's Eve, reaching a hotel occupancy of 87.57 and an average price of 65 euros per person per day, which means an increase of four euros compared to 2018.

Regarding hotel occupancy, from December 22 to January 1 it has been 44%, and an average price of 56 euros, two euros more than the same period last year.

For the mayor of Employment, Economic Promotion and Tourism, "these data reflect an increase in the average price per person per day, which is good news for Murcia entrepreneurs."

More users in tourist offices

The number of users of tourist offices during the month of December has increased by more than 29% compared to 2018, from 21,857 to 28,222, the number of foreign tourists being especially significant, which has experienced a 32% rise compared to last year, standing at a total of 3,880.

The tourist offices of Murcia have also received more national tourists than other years, a 4.34% increase;

as has happened with users from the municipality itself, 38.17% more than in 2018, reaching a total of 16,731;

and with citizens from other parts of the Region, which have gone from 12,677 of 2018 to 17,856 of 2019.

Likewise, the Councilor for Tourism has assessed in a very positive way the success of the special programming that the Department for the Christmas holidays has designed for the first time.
