The Magi symbolize three characteristic elements of Murcia's identity (02/01/2020)

José Ballesta has presented to the representatives of His Majesties the Kings of the East: the president of the Royal and Very Illustrious Cabildo Superior de Cofradías, José Ignacio Sánchez Ballesta, the Murcian chef Pablo González-Conejero and the singer Vicente Alberto Sopale, artistically known as Vince .

For its part, the Christmas Star will be the Infant Queen of the Huerta 2019 and the Honor Page the Child Standard Bearer of Moors and Christians 2019. The mascot of Murcia Spanish Capital of Gastronomy will parade in the Cavalcade this Sunday.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning in the Corregidores Hall to the representatives of His Majesties the Magi from the East in the municipality of Murcia, who expressed their illusion and joy for this appointment.

On this occasion, the representatives are José Ignacio Sánchez Ballesta, president of the Royal and Very Illustrious Cabildo Superior de Cofradías, who will be King Melchor;

Chef Pablo González-Conejero, chef of La Cabaña, where he has revalidated his two Michelin Stars, who will represent King Gaspar;

and the singer Vicente Alberto Sopale, artistically known as Vince, winner of CreaMurcia 2017 in the Other Trends modality - recognition he achieved for his rap - which will be King Baltasar.

The mascot of Murcia Spanish Capital of Gastronomy will parade this Sunday at the Three Kings Cavalcade.

Specifically, it will appear after the Majorettes Twirling de Monteagudo, who will open the parade;

group that won the title of world champions in August in the competition held in the French city of Limoges.

The Christmas Star of Murcia

During the event he also presented himself to the Christmas Star, which will be represented by Candela Sánchez, Queen of Children of La Huerta 2019, as well as to the Paje de Honor, which will be the 2019 Moros y Cristianos Children's Flag, Rocío González.

Reception at the City Hall and Three Kings Parade

This Sunday, January 5, at 12:30 pm, the mayor of Murcia will receive His Magi the Magi at the City Hall of Murcia, where a reception will also be held for all children in the Plenary Hall.

In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., the Three Kings Cavalcade will be held, whose itinerary will begin on San Juan de la Cruz Avenue and will cross Mozart streets, Torre de Romo, Hermanos Cerón, Alameda de Colón, Camachos Square, Martínez Square Tornel, Gran Via Salzillo and Avenida de la Constitución.

Upon completion, the Kings will go to the municipal Bethlehem, where they will make a symbolic offering, with the performance of the children's and youth sections of the Murcia Orfeón Fernández Caballero.

Thousands of children will witness the arrival of the Magi from the East this Sunday, January 5, who can enjoy receiving their Majesties in the City Hall in the morning and the subsequent Three Kings Parade through the streets of Murcia, whose main thread will be the cinema.

Last year, the parade brought together more than 70,000 Murcia.

3,000 portions of roscón

Murcia will host this Sunday other activities related to the arrival of His Majesties the Magi, such as the distribution of the Roscón, at 10 am, at the Glorieta, where 3,000 rations will be given.

At 11 am, the children's musical show 'Waiting for the Magi' will be held.

Silk, the Garden of the Magi

The Silk Garden has become the Garden of the Magi, where children can enjoy different free activities from today until January 5.

In addition, a Royal Postman is collecting the letters of the children who come to the Garden.

Today and tomorrow, the schedule will be from 5 pm to 9 pm, on day 4, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 9 pm, and on January 5, from 11 am to 2 pm.

The Solidarity Cavalcade of the Kings for the Eastern District

On Sunday morning, at 10 am, the Solidarity Cavalcade of the Kings will also take place in the Eastern District, which will start in the Plaza de la Candelaria and will tour the headquarters of Caritas de Santa Eulalia, Canovas del Castillo, the Plaza de San Juan, the headquarters of Cáritas San Juan, Saavedra Fajardo, the headquarters of Cáritas San Lorenzo, the cradle house Madre Paula, Platería, headquarters Cáritas de San Bartolomé, Platería, Trapería, San Lorenzo, Saavedra Fajardo and Cánovas del Castillo, ending in the Plaza de la Candelaria.

The Magi of this parade, represented by members of the municipal board of the district, will be accompanied by 35 pages, who will distribute toys, goodies and chocolate coins.
