The Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth, led by Rebeca Pérez, together with the company Ferrovial Services, has activated a special road cleaning device for New Year's Eve, reinforcing the usual tasks with extraordinary services in the areas of greatest influx so that the streets maintain an optimal state on dates when the city is full of events and has more activity in the public space

Thus, based on the experience of previous years, where areas of high concentration of young public have been presented from 14 to 21 hours such as Plaza de Santa Isabel, Plaza de las Flores, Gran Vía, Alfonso X, San Juan and Bartolomé Perez Casas, a service reinforcement is planned in order to adequately address the high number of waste and dirt that is generated in such a short space of time.

The device for these locations will consist of 31 operators with 17 mechanical means (road sweepers, vacuum cleaners, motor sweepers and mini-collectors).

In addition, 18 additional 240-liter containers will be available, which will be placed as wastebaskets in Bartolomé Pérez Casas, Plaza Santa Catalina and Plaza de las Flores.

In addition, portable toilets will be available in the areas of greatest influx.

Thus two will be installed in the Spanish Roundabout, one normal and one for people with reduced mobility, three in the Circular (one for people with reduced mobility), one in the Artillery Barracks and another in C / Echegaray.
