The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Citizen Security and Economic Management, Eduardo Martínez Oliva, visited this morning the Local Police Barracks, the Infante Fire Station and Civil Protection facilities, to congratulate Christmas and to thank, on behalf of Murcia, the agents, firefighters, troops and volunteers who remain on duty during the holidays.
"We are deeply proud of you," said José Ballesta, who stressed that "they will be 24 hours attending to any circumstance that occurs in any corner of the municipality."
The mayor highlighted his "vocation of public service, to the care of safety, health and welfare of almost half a million Murcia, not only today, but 365 days a year."
In total, 250 police officers, 35 firefighters and 15 Civil Protection personnel remain on duty on the occasion of the special Christmas and Christmas security device.
