The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights and Family, reinforces its commitment this Christmas with gender equality and increases awareness raising and for the prevention of violence against women through the campaign 'Only Yes Yes. Zero Tolerance to Sexist Violence '.
This campaign is carried out through the installation of Violet Points in the different spaces of the city of Murcia in which the most frequent scheduled events will take place and where information will be provided with the distribution of information leaflets with a decalogue for free parties of sexist attacks and bracelets with the 112 emergency telephone numbers and the EMAVI: Municipal Team for Attention to Gender Violence of the City of Murcia.
The Violeta Points are the spaces to sensitize and inform, as well as, spaces for security and accompaniment in case of possible cases of sexual and / or sexist violence during the celebration of these holidays.
They will be attended by professionals specialized in gender equality who will have the support of the Social Volunteering belonging to the Voluntary Offices of the Municipal Social Services Centers and working in coordination with the Local Police.
This municipal service is aimed at the general public and the youth population in particular, which will be active on December 24 and 31 from 2 pm to 6 pm in the Plaza de la Merced de Murcia.
The City of Murcia enables Violeta Points during the most significant holiday periods, such as the Spring Festivities, the September Fair and the Christmas Holiday, in which so far, in 2019, more than 6,000 leaflets have been distributed and more than 4,000 bracelets, the information reaching more than 4,000 people.
