The political groups present unanimously approve a motion that expresses their rejection of the zero transfer for Murcia's irrigation, the Central Government is required to award the works of the West Pluvial Interceptor Collector and to extend the concession of the Water Treatment Plant of the Counterpart

The Municipal Plenary has approved, unanimously of the political groups present, a motion to express the support of the City of Murcia to the Tajo - Segura Transfer and its rejection of the zero transfer for the Murcian irrigation.

In addition, the national government is required to extend the concession of the Potable Water Plant of the Contraparada, which is owned by the City of Murcia from 6.5 hm3 / year to 15hm3 / year

According to the motion, "the decision not to transfer for irrigation in the months of November and December contravenes the proposal of the Technical Commission of Exploitation. This decision incurs three major contradictions; first one technique, since the decision has been made without Having the criteria of the Technical Commission, a historical contradiction since the more than 40 years of existence demonstrate the need and proper functioning of this infrastructure, and a temporary contradiction since if the excuse is the situation of the Mar Menor and this is not it will solve immediately, but it will be a task that will take months or years "

Also, the City of Murcia has requested the extension of the water concession of the water treatment plant of the Contraparada of which the City of Murcia is the owner, from 6.5 hm3 a year to 15 hm3 a year which is the production capacity of this plant.

Therefore this plant is operating at 40% capacity.

This will mean an equivalent reduction in water supply from the Taibilla Commonwealth, water that is paid much more expensive, on the order of 3.5 times more.

This would imply two important consequences: free the community of 8.5hm3 for other needs and reduce the cost of water for Murcia.
