The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, delivered this morning to Bonifacio Fernández, president of the Food Bank of Segura, the 1,100 kilograms of food collected by the workers of the cleaning and waste management service of the concessionaire company Ferrovial Servicios .
The event was also attended by representatives of the concessionary company, Cespa Servicios Urbanos de Murcia and the company committee of the Cleaning and Waste Management Service.
Thus, employees have donated 550 kilos and the company has made a complementary donation consisting of matching the amount of kilos collected by its workers, thus reaching more than 1,100.
During the month of December, in all the offices and work centers of the cleaning service, containers were available so that the employees of the concessionary company could collaborate and show their solidarity.
Previously, Ferrovial Servicios contacted the Food Bank to consult what were the needs of that moment and completing the donation of food, consisting of milk, canned fish and legumes, and oil, which will be distributed among Murcia families more needed
The cleaning and waste management service staff donated more than 915 kilos of food last year.
"In this way we help those who need it most on such specific dates but we also remember that this work is done 365 days a year. Together we have to build a better, more supportive world and raise awareness about the importance of helping people that need it most "said Rebeca Pérez.
