The City Council and the CHS study the necessary actions to prevent flooding in Alquerías, Zeneta and El Raal (17/12/2019)

Councilor Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited this morning, together with the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura Mario Urrea, the Rambla de Tabala area that was affected by DANA.

The councilor has demanded to the CHS actions for evacuation plans of the Rambla de Tabala in the area of Alquerías and Zeneta, raising in situ the need to address the project of rolling rafts that avoid situations such as those occurred last September.

The councilor has indicated that it is a claim of the neighbors of these districts and that "the City Council will work tirelessly to solve it. It is unacceptable that residents in this area get restless every time it rains."

The solution proposed by the councilor during the visit consists in tackling the problem in the upper part of the ravine by incorporating rolling ramps that allow a correct evacuation without risk for the houses and the people who reside there.

In the same way, he has accompanied the president of the CHS, pointing out the areas on the speck of the river that require the regrowth of the specks, reinforcement of the same and containment actions within the plan already developed by the CHS in Alquerías.

Also, in the Reguerón area, in the Zeneta term, they have reviewed all the necessary actions to prevent episodes such as September.

In El Raal, Fernández has visited the affected areas where he broke the speck and where he has obtained the commitment of the CHS to adequately reinforce all damaged spaces as well as in all sections of bike lanes, the growth of motorcycles and the creation of walls of containment.

He has also taken advantage of the visit to review the evolution of the repair works of the RM16 entrance to Zeneta that is being executed by the CARM.

He has also inspected the actions that ADIF undertook to carry out on the old railway track after the councilor's meeting in Madrid on October 7.

Thus the railway company has already removed the tracks and lowered the slope to zero level which allows the area of Vereda de Tabala to have a faster and more viable evacuation option that provides tranquility to the neighbors since the drain of the Rambla de Tabala will be produced in a better distributed way.

The councilor has insisted on "the need for good coordination between the various administrations to resolve an emergency issue for residents of the area."

The visit, in addition to Councilor Marco Antonio Fernández and the president of the CHS, Mario Urrea, has attended technical staff of the City Council and the CHS, the pediatric mayor of Alquerías and El Raal as well as representatives of the Board of Zeneta.
