Dorothy Estrada, UMU Law Professor, selected for the Harvard Human Rights program (16/12/2019)

Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Murcia, Dorothy Estrada Tanck, has been one of the five people selected worldwide as 'Visiting Fellows' for the period 2019-2020, within the prestigious Human Rights program of Harvard University School of Law.

In this program, Professor Estrada Tanck will carry out investigations on indirect discrimination, particularly in the field of economic, social and cultural rights, as well as on the legal regime of autonomous weapons in relation to Human Rights.

People admitted as 'Visiting Fellows' are chosen after a highly competitive selection process, attended by leading academics and Human Rights professionals from around the world, who have very diverse research and experiences in this field.

The other four elected persons have worked on Human Rights issues in the context of countries in Africa, in Russia, in Azerbaijan and in Japan.

With this program, Harvard University seeks to provide people with a high commitment in relation to Human Rights the opportunity to conduct a reflexive investigation in this area.

Dorothy Estrada has also been selected as the recipient of the Jiménez de la Espada aid of the Seneca Foundation of the Region of Murcia, destined for stays of researchers of the Region in universities and research centers of world reference.
