The PSOE requires the Plenary another necessary improvement in public transport so that Lightning 14 gives a quality service to the north zone (15/12/2019)

Councilman Juan Vicente Larrosa says that "we can not allow a user to take less time to move from Mula to Murcia than to go from San Andrés to Joven Futura, and that when you can take the bus because at certain times it is full, and if you go with a twin cart the mission is impossible "

The Socialist Municipal Group returns to the Plenary a motion to solve the notable problems with public transport that, "as we have repeated until satiety is inefficient in terms of agility and frequencies and does not connect the entire territory," explains councilman Juan Vicente Larrosa

On this occasion, it is Ray 14, a line that has to be completely remodeled, as the neighbors of the northern area are asking, specifically, of Young Futura.

This line originally served the inhabitants of the municipality connecting some neighborhoods in the northern part of the city with the center of the capital.

Fundamentally the neighborhood of El Ranero, also passing through San Basilio, Avenida de la Constitución, Gran Vía, San Antón, San Andrés, Gran Vía again, Avenida Teniente Flomesta, Avenida de la Fama, Ronda Levante, Plaza Circular, returning by Avenida Juan Carlos I and Avenida de los Pinos towards the El Ranero neighborhood.

In 2013, Lightning 14 was expanded to serve a new neighborhood of Espinardo, that of Joven Futura, with 1,370 homes, mostly inhabited by young families.

However, according to the councilman, who has held meetings with the residents of the area, the demographic evolution of the neighborhood, as well as the provisional nature of the modification of the line made in 2013, do not comply with the principles of quality in terms of urban mobility.

"To make matters worse, the neighbors of Joven Futura and the residents of Senda de Granada have been demanding public transport for years, since the area supports a high traffic density and they are exposed to a lot of insecurity due to the lack of sidewalks and poor lighting" , points Larrosa.

In addition, he states that "we cannot allow a user to take less time to move from Mula to Murcia than to go from San Andrés to Joven Futura, and that when you can take the bus because at certain times it is full, and if you go with a cart twin the mission is impossible. "

For all these reasons, the Socialist councilor demands the remodeling of the route of the Ray 14 line so that access to the city is faster and more efficient, also serving the Senda area of Granada;

an extension of frequencies and extension of the schedule, especially in the summer months;

the endowment to the line of vehicles of greater capacity, at least at peak times, moving the head of the line to the furthest point of the capital, located in the district of Espinardo;

the modification of the regulatory ordinance to enable the use of twin carts and the study of the situation of public transport in our municipality within the Transportation Board.
