The PSOE urges to increase housing for social emergency (09/12/2019)

Carmen Fructuoso argues that "a few months ago we suffered the effects of a DANA and last week a building collapsed in Torreagüera, therefore, we must always be prepared to solve a housing problem that has occurred"

The Municipal Socialist Group considers it necessary to increase the number of municipal housing for social emergency and so claimed it in the Plenary past through a motion that was approved unanimously.

Councilwoman Carmen Fructuoso says that "there are many neighbors who have problems with their own homes at specific moments in their lives and the City Council, as an administration closest to the citizen, must provide for a quick response."

Therefore, "the first thing is to create a work table with the participation of political parties, municipal technicians, associations of affected groups and Social Services of the City Council to try to make a real diagnosis and try to solve the lack of emergency housing that we have in the municipality, "explains the councilor, who has met, along with the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano, with the priest Joaquín Sánchez, of the Platform of People Affected by the Mortgage (PAH).

Fructuoso says that the Housing Service needs more financing and human resources, since "it has been abandoned for a decade by the government team, the PP", proof of this, adds that "there are one thousand occupied homes in the municipality and 952 files on the waiting list ".

Therefore, it considers "pertinent and urgent a municipal housing plan for cases of social emergency such as women victims of gender violence, tenants of a building ruined or a house in poor habitability due to its safety or its conditions hygienic, people with unsustainable family relationships due to the existence of physical or psychological abuse, affected by the loss of habitual housing such as fire or flood or neighbors affected by evictions, foreclosures or expropriation files. "

The councilor argues that the PP must require its regional government colleagues to comply with the development of the Regulation that develops the application of the Housing Law of the Region of Murcia, "so necessary for the residents of this municipality and that it has five years paralyzed. "

"Emergency situations can occur at the most unexpected moment, and it is in those cases when the City Council must be at the side of the public offering quick solutions to alleviate the misfortune they suffer."

In this regard, remember that "a few months ago we suffered the quite catastrophic effects of a DANA and last week a building collapsed in Torreagüera, therefore, we must always be prepared to solve a problem of housing, especially in the case of neighbors who have real difficulty staying in family or friends' houses.
