Promotion will promote the public tender of an advisory contract that allows auditing minor contracts (08/12/2019)

The Department of Public Works led by Mario Gómez will promote the public bidding of an advisory contract that allows an external audit of the minor contracts to be carried out in the City of Murcia.

In view of the analyzed data, the person in charge of Development considers it essential to resort to an audit to analyze the minor contracts made, their procedures and establish mechanisms that promote new work models adjusted to the law and avoid situations that must be eradicated from the session so that this one does not continue in doubt ".

Regarding the personification of the City Council of Murcia in the 'Pedanías' case, Councilor Mario Gómez has indicated that "appearing in these cases should be an obligation, not simply to be in the instruction and subsequent cause, but to provide all the information and offer the necessary help to police, prosecutors and judges to get to the bottom of the matter. "

In this line, the mayor of Development believes that with the personation is not enough.

"Our obligation must go further. We must go one step further to eradicate malpractice, change the way in which procedures are processed and end the lack of control and supervision that have given rise to those practices that are being investigated in court today. ".

In this way, Mario Gómez has once again insisted on the need to reduce smaller contracts to really exceptional cases.

"They should be the exception, not a usual practice, as today continues to happen. This is what we have come to change, even if some try to maintain the same model and system," he said.

Likewise, the person in charge of Development has informed that his first actions as a Councilor of Government have been to reject a good number of minor contracts for not complying with the law and that, in this line, he will continue to act until a system is established of contracting adjusted to the legislation.

This has been transferred to all councilors with a hiring delegation, with the aim of taking all necessary measures so that the minor contracts of the City of Murcia meet the parameters and requirements established by the Public Sector Contract Law, rejecting the fractionation of invoices and those contracts that do not contain the three necessary budgets, collusive practices and awards to companies that have already exceeded the economic limits established by law, among other issues.

For all this, the mayor Mario Gómez will resort to an external audit of these contracts that "allows us to implement a clear and effective control mechanism on minor contracts in all municipal departments and services to avoid possible fraudulent use, reduce them to the exceptionalities established by the law and put an end to the legal uncertainty in which the councilors are currently located ".
