Chenoa will be the Godmother of the Great Tree and will welcome Christmas this Saturday, wrapped by thousands of Murcia (05/12/2019)

José Ballesta presents the Christmas Tree program, which will be inaugurated this Saturday, December 7, starting at 6.30 pm, with a light show, live music, snow and fireworks.

More than 120 cultural events, including concerts, dance and Christmas workshops, will turn the Great Tree of La Circular into the epicenter of Murcian Christmas.

Curro Piñana, Al Dual and Santiago Campillo, as well as the university section of the Coral Discantus are some of the program's performances.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, and the Councilors for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, and Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning the programming of the Great Christmas Tree of Murcia, which involves the deployment of more than 120 cultural events, including music, dance and Christmas workshops.

“They are about thirty concerts and about a hundred free activities for the whole family with which we promote Christmas traditions among the little ones;

a program that adds to the hundreds of events that will take place in Murcia neighborhoods and districts this Christmas, â€said the mayor of Murcia, who revealed that“ on this occasion, the guest surprise, the Godmother of our Tree, will be the singer Chenoa, who will perform this Saturday in the crowded crowd, accompanied by the group Los Happys â€.

During the presentation of the programming of the Great Tree, which has had the presence of the sponsors and collaborators that finance the activities, the Coral San Buenaventura of the Capuchinos school offered a performance.

Also attended by most artists who will give voice to the concerts of the program, such as Santiago Campillo, Curro Piñana, Los Happys ...

'Follow your star' in a music, light and snow show

This Saturday will take place the grand opening of the Christmas Tree, under the name 'Follow your Star', which will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Circular Plaza, where a light, snow, fireworks show and performances will be held in direct, like those of Chenoa and Los Happys.

During the next weeks, the Tree will have a Paje Real Solidarity Point, where children who wish may donate their toys for the enjoyment of other children in the municipality.

In return, they will receive chocolate doubloons (more than 50,000).

A Royal Mailbox has also been enabled, in which they can deliver their letters.

One hundred free Christmas activities for the whole family

The program includes a hundred free workshops for the whole family, which will take place from December 13 to January 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

'Atelier Ornaments for your Tree', 'Plant your Christmas Tree', 'Sew your Christmas Sock', 'Create your Christmas hat', 'Prepare your Cotillion', 'Terra Christmas Crafts' and 'Mini Christmas Chef' of Terra Natura ;

'Mini Chef: Fruit tartlets' and 'Mini Chef: Roscón de Reyes' of the Hospitality School of the City of Murcia, as well as 'Mini Chef: Mantecados Murcia' and 'Mini Chef: Christmas Rolls' of the Cultural Association of Chiefs of the Region of Murcia (JECOMUR) are some of the activities of the program.

Dance in the heart of Murcia

The Paseo de Alfonso X El Sabio will also become one of the main stages of the program, where on Saturday December 21 the activity will be held 'La Salsa Street', with street dancing, inviting pedestrians to participate, of 17 to 21 hours.

On Sunday, December 22, on the other hand, Alfonso X will host the Christmas Tango Party, with live music and free classes for everyone.

Flamenco with Curro Piñana, rockabilly with Al Dual and choral music

The program hosts almost thirty concerts of different styles, such as choral, flamenco, Christmas, 'rockabilly' music… Specifically, the dates are as follows:
