The new ElPozo Indoor Soccer School opens its doors in the neighborhood of La Paz with a hundred young people and children in its ranks (04/12/2019)

This project was born to respond to the requests of the residents of the neighborhood, during the neighborhood participation processes framed in the DNA project Urbano La Paz.

The School, which opened its doors two weeks ago, already has more than a hundred children enrolled.

Training takes place in the Narciso Yepes Pavilion and on the track of the Nuestra Señora de la Paz school.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, along with the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, today presented the new El Pozo de La Paz Indoor Soccer School in the Narciso Yepes Pavilion, which with just two weeks of life already has more a hundred young people and children in their ranks.

“The origin of this Futsal School dates back to the participation processes framed within the DNA Urban La Paz Project, carried out in 2018,†recalled the mayor of Murcia, who added that “the School is born, therefore, as a project social to respond to neighbors and promote grassroots sport in this Murcian neighborhood. â€

During the participation processes mentioned, the residents of La Paz proposed to create a Futsal School, "highlighting the great love of this sport, because they explained that the current ElPozo club emerged here, in La Paz," said José Ballesta.

For this reason, the City of Murcia has worked together with ElPozo Murcia to create the new school.

The schools involved in DNA La Paz are the following: Our Lady of Good Books, Our Lady of La Paz, Divine Teacher, Parra School, Vistabella, Andrés Baquero and Narciso Yepes.

The Urban DNA is an initiative for the renovation and social activation of the neighborhoods and districts of Murcia, through citizen participation, with the aim of enhancing the identity of each population center.

From the indoor soccer club Cruz Joyita to ElPozo Murcia, the origins

After conducting an investigation, the City of Murcia confirmed that the origins of ElPozo were born in the Murcian neighborhood of LaPaz.

The current utillero of this club, Juan Pedreño, guarantees that the origin of ElPozo is in the Cruz Joyita Indoor Soccer Club, founded in 1985 by Antonio Cruz, who ran a jewelry store in Platería street.

In the 89/90 season, ElPozo Murcia took the reins of this club, whose backbone was initially the residents of La Paz.

Youth and children from 6 to 15 years divided into five categories

This Indoor Soccer School, which has five categories - prebenjamines, benjamines, fry, children and cadets - can be accessed by girls and boys between 6 and 15 years old.

The training takes place at the Narciso Yepes Pavilion and at the track of the Nuestra Señora de la Paz school, in which the aforementioned Cruz Joyita Club played some of their matches.

During the previous course, the City of Murcia conducted a pilot test to see how this project would work, in which more than 50 children participated.
