The PSOE warns that abandoning the unfinished coastal is to throw all the money invested and persevere in the disconnection of the municipality (03/12/2019)

The Socialist Group maintains the vertebration of the municipality of Murcia as one of its basic principles.

Therefore, it has been claiming for years the termination of the North and South coastal, because both would serve to connect all the neighbors, mainly those who live in districts.

For the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano, the equality of all Murcia "must continue to be the great objective for which to work tirelessly from the City Hall and, of course, also from the Autonomous Community."

Therefore, "we do not understand how after having invested millions of euros in the coastal, engaged in an agreement between the regional and local administrations, the Autonomous Community with the complicity of the City Council decides to abandon both projects. This for us is to throw money and persevere in the disconnection of our municipality. "

Serrano points out that "the waste of public money seems to be in the genes of the PP. It does not hurt to pledge spending on projects and initiatives that later remain nothing, but it will not be with our silence, much less with our support, it is more, we will insist with all the tools that are within our reach to finish both coastal ones that are still more necessary today than when they were projected more than a decade ago. "

Specifically, the South Coast constitutes a high capacity road that, along 10.2 kilometers, had to connect the districts of El Palmar and Torreagüera, passing through La Alberca, Santo Ángel, Algezares, Los Garres, San José de la Vega and Beniaján.

It must be remembered that, at the request of the PSOE, in the Plenary session of February 2016, a motion was approved unanimously for the reactivation of the works of this infrastructure that has not been fulfilled "and it seems that there is no intention to comply with it when what remains is a third phase of the works of the South Coast, between the districts of Algezares and Torreagüera ".

This new road was thought of as an alternative to the current RM-302 road, between El Palmar and Torreagüera, to free the constant passage of vehicles to the main streets of the districts of the area.

Meanwhile, the North Coast has as its objective the connection between La Ñora, Guadalupe, Espinardo, Churra, El Puntal, Cabezo de Torres, El Esparragal and Monteagudo.

In addition to improving access to Alicante, the new road means a natural exit to Santomera and oxygenates access to the Nueva Condomina and Thader shopping centers.

In total, they are 3.3 kilometers, equipped with segregated bike lanes, and five roundabouts, one of which eliminates a black spot at the old intersection of the A-7 motorway with access to Cabezo de Torres.

This Coast is included in the Murcia 2020 Strategy, "another of the promises of the PP that will not keep."

For all this, the socialist spokesman said that "of course the PP is not understood with anyone, or with their current partners or, worse, with their own party partners in the Autonomous Community, an administration that does not require completion of the coastal ones for being basic infrastructures for this municipality ".

And he adds: "we already tell you that these vials do not end with a led lamppost or flower beds".
