We can-Equo: "We will be in front of anyone who denies gender violence" (26/11/2019)

Podemos-Equo has denounced that the November Plenary will mean "a setback in the rights of women" because of Vox's motion "denying macho violence and reducing acquired rights."

The Podemos-Equo municipal group will take to the Plenary two motions, one by Clara Martínez Baeza to increase public places in municipal nursery schools and the other by Ginés Ruiz Maciá, aimed at finding urgent solutions for the residents of the Prince of Asturias building, affected by a huge sinkhole caused by the September DANA.

The municipal group Podemos-Equo has lamented that the ordinary Plenary of November of the City of Murcia takes, among the motions presented by the groups, one that questions gender violence until the denial.

"Vox is going too far, we are not going to accept or bleach the denialist discourse that the extreme right intends to implement. They are going to have us in front. It is a major setback that this Thursday, in the City of Murcia, questioning the violence against women violating thus the rights of women. "

In this sense, Ginés Ruiz Maciá, spokesman of the group, has indicated that "we will continue fighting their speeches, full of false data and marked by the violation of rights and freedoms of the most disadvantaged. We will be in front of anyone who denies the violence of gender".

The Councilors of Podemos-Equo will take two motions to the ordinary Plenary of November.

Clara Martínez Baeza will defend before the rest of the corporation the need to "address a strategy to expand the places of pre-school education, until tripling them."

At present, the municipality of Murcia has 569 places for a population between 0 and 3 years of age exceeding 20,000 people.

"It is necessary to provide a sufficient budget for this strategy as well as to promote adequate means for its progressive fulfillment, because the increase of public places in the first stage of early childhood education is essential to guarantee conciliation and, therefore, equality between men and women. women".

Ginés Ruiz Maciá will ask, for his part, that the City Council address the problem faced by the residents of the Prince of Asturias building, on Miguel Vivancos street, affected by a huge hole caused by the September DANA.

"It is essential that the government team carry out an inspection of the urbanization works in the area between Churra and Zaraiche and the effects it has had on the runoff and its impact on flood damage."

Although the sinkhole is on a plot that is privately owned, in the opinion of the Podemos-Equo group, the City Council has the obligation to "require developers to carry out the legally enforceable works and infrastructure in terms of storm drainage" and therefore "We ask that the government team provide the neighbors who can carry out the repair and consolidation of the damaged wall as soon as possible."
