The ´Encesta Glass campaign, we won all´ enters its final stretch (23/11/2019)

The 'Encesta glass, we all win' campaign, launched by Ecovidrio and to which the City of Murcia has joined, aims to mobilize citizens to deposit the glass in the corresponding container and win the challenge: Ecovidrio will reform a track of basketball with materials that come from the processing and recycling of glass containers, the first of these characteristics that will exist in the Region.

For this, from the Department of Sustainable Mobility and in collaboration with Ferrovial Services, many initiatives have been prepared to promote recycling and outperform other municipalities.

Among these initiatives are the talks in 16 schools reaching more than 1,500 students in the municipality of Murcia.

The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez stresses "the importance of presenting this innovative campaign in schools because we know that students are not only the future, they are also the transmitting agents of everything learned"

In addition, actions have been carried out on the street where 1,500 leaflets have been distributed, information has been offered through environmental educators and posters have been placed in emblematic buildings of the municipality and prominent sites.

During the night of October 30, the city lit up green on the occasion of the campaign with the lighting of the building attached to the City Hall, Alfonso X el Sabio Avenue as well as Murcia Río, which dyed the color of recycling.

The recycling of glass is a reality already consolidated in Murcia and that increases every day thanks to the commitment of the citizens.

The data indicate this to us since between January and September of last year 5,143,370 kilos were collected, while in the same period of this current year, 5,602,009 kilos have been collected, which represents an Increase of 8 , 92%.

With this initiative, progress is being made to continue making Murcia a more sustainable city and committed to the environment.
