The PSOE demands a cultural center so that the residents of Espinardo do not carry out scattered activities in different facilities (23/11/2019)

The Socialist Municipal Group will defend in the next plenary session on Thursday a cultural center for Espinardo, which with a population close to 12,000 inhabitants, is one of the most populated neighborhoods in the municipality and, however, does not have a conditioned space to develop activities Cultural and leisure.

Moreover, according to councilor Andrés Guerrero, the workshops being held are taught in classrooms provided by the Salzillo School and other cultural centers such as Guadalupe.

Therefore, "those neighbors of Espinardo who have an interest in participating in an activity have to travel and being scattered can not enjoy a more complete cultural program," explains the councilor, who recalls that for years the only auditorium that users could use was located in the Cultural and Social Center, where there was a stage and conferences, concerts, theater were developed ... "although with many limitations since it had a capacity reduced to 70 people and we have gone from these terrible conditions to other worse because right now we have nothing. "

Guerrero indicates that the Cultural and Social Center of Espinardo was first to develop its activity in 1982, and is currently located in a building with an age greater than 100 years, which presents various damages in its structure and does not offer No guarantee to neighbors.

He reports that various reports have been made, which have concluded that the situation of the floors is unsustainable and there is no reform or patching given the seriousness of the deterioration.

"This situation has determined the immediate suspension of all activities carried out in said center and the transfer of the same, so that about 12,000 residents of the neighborhood have been deprived of public spaces that are not outdoors," said the councilor , who adds "this situation seriously determines the need to adopt courageous measures that allow Espinardo to give the center he really deserves, equating it to other neighborhoods and districts."

Therefore, the motion requires that the Governing Board of the City of Murcia take action on the matter and begin to carry out the relevant actions, location of location, project and financial resources as soon as possible, to carry out a new Cultural center in Espinardo, with auditorium and duly adequate with spaces available to neighborhood associations, taking as a model the most modern made so far as is the Cultural Center of Beniaján.
