Faced with the different limitations of VOX that threaten the freedom of the press and information, Jos� Antonio Serrano, a socialist spokesman, asks the mayor to take charge of the situation and guarantee the right to information in Murcia

“From the PSOE we are not going to allow a blind eye and we are going to demand that Ballesta, as mayor of the municipality, fulfill his responsibilities and stop Vox's feet,” says the spokesman

Freedom of expression does not suit Vox.

There have been several occasions in which different media have been banned from being able to access press conferences offered by this political group or that they have received attacks and threats due to the mere fact that their editorial line is not in line with the ideology of said match.

It is a serious threat to press freedom and the right to information that the Socialist Municipal Group cannot ignore.

The spokesman, Jos� Antonio Serrano, will present a motion to the next plenary session of the City Council of Murcia in order to urge the government team to demonstrate against any violation of the right to the press.

“It is outrageous that Vox plays with press freedom in this way.

The political parties are obliged to maintain a strict respect for the right to information.

It seems incredible that we have to stop to explain at this stage of democratic history what is the importance of the media for the proper functioning of our society, ”says Serrano.

“It seems that Vox wants to go back to the ideas of adept press and prior censorship, more typical of times past.

The City Council must be the dam to contain these limiting and authoritarian attitudes.
