The Burial of the Sardine will be part of the Cavalcade announcing the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (21/11/2019)

The Burial of the Sardine will parade for the third time outside the Region, after doing so in 1992 at the Seville Expo and in 2004 in the French town of Grasse.

It will be next February when a representation of the Sardinera Association composed of about 200 people, will visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife to participate in its carnival, considered the second most important in the world, after Rio de Janeiro.

On the occasion of its 170th anniversary, on Friday, February 21, the Burial of the Sardine will be part of the Cavalcade announcing the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Likewise, on the same day in the morning, there will be a parade through the most central streets of the Canarian city, to publicize the participation of the sardineros in the parade.

In addition, an official event will be held in the Plenary Hall of the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in which the Carnivals of Santa Cruz and the Burial of the Sardine of Murcia, will be twinned, representing a great milestone for these two declared parties of International Tourist Interest

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, thanked the Sardinera Association "for their work to enhance this celebration, to bring the name of Murcia by flag and to star in a unique event throughout the national territory, which with actions such as this, is increasingly known in the rest of the world.
