The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, accompanied by the Director General of Sports, Fran Sánchez, today presented the 1st Wheelchair Handball Tournament Region of Murcia to be held next weekend, November 23 and 24 , in Cartagena and Murcia, respectively.
The sporting event will feature the Spanish Wheelchair Handball Team that has just been established and will participate for the first time in the European Championship in Croatia in December.
"They will also be inclusive sessions in which all attendees can participate so that all interested parties can learn about this modality and its regulations," said Councilman Felipe Coello.
The tournament will be preceded every day by a talk about 'Introduction to wheelchair handball' and its regulations and then a specific training will be developed.
Finally, the match will be held on Saturday, at 7:00 p.m., in the Urban Pavilion (Cartagena), and on Sunday, at 12:00 p.m., in the Cagigal Pavilion (Murcia).
Presentations on inclusive sport
In addition to the tournament, three presentations will be held on Saturday on 'Adapted and inclusive sport in the Region of Murcia: Towards a universal sports design' in the auditorium of the Assembly Hall of the ETSINO (Naval and Oceanic Engineering) and the ETSICCPIM (Engineering of Roads, Canals and Ports and Mining Engineering), in that of Alfonso XIII of Cartagena.
Pedro Ortolano Muñoz, graduated in Sports Science, will talk about 'Adapted sport and inclusive sport.
For his part, Pedro Javier Sánchez, of the Aidemar sports club, will discuss the 'Challenges and adapted and inclusive sports milestones' and Juan Carlos Palazón, graduated in Social Education and runner-up in futsal room B2 / B3, on' A life adapted by sport '.
