A total of 66,756 students enroll in the activities of the # MurciaMiCiudadEnseña program (17/11/2019)

A total of 66,756 students have enrolled in the activities of the # MurciaMiCiudadEnseña program, the City Council Educational Offer for this course for students, between 3 and 18 years old, of Infant, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate.

The Department of Education and Infantile Schools, directed by Belén López, is responsible for this educational program aimed at a school population of 73,754 students in the municipality of Murcia.

Cultural outings, guided tours, children's shows, workshops and seminars comprise this program to which 188 schools have already signed up for the municipality, of which 126 correspond to districts and 62 to the town center.

Specifically, a total of 66,756 have been added to this initiative, of which 13,630 belong to Early Childhood Education, 31,707 to Primary Education, 18,060 to Secondary Education and Diversification and 3,359 to Baccalaureate and FP.

The head of Education highlights the good reception of participation that the initiative has had and adds that the data may vary throughout the course, “since new activities are being awarded as new collaborations ariseâ€.

Varied activities for all educational levels

# MurciaMiciudadEnseña encompasses 97 activities, organized by educational levels and classified into seven thematic blocks: Performing Arts, Historical-Artistic Heritage, Scientific Heritage, Natural Heritage, Traditional Heritage, Knowing services-creating consciences and Making Citizenship.

The Educational Offer of the 2019-2020 course was sent to the educational centers at the beginning of the school year, with the maximum deadline for admission of applications on September 30.

In this way, the program began on October 1 and is scheduled to end on May 31, 2020.

The mayor explains that “the activities begin to be awarded once the deadline for receiving applications is closed, prioritizing those requested in the first option and grouping classrooms of the same level or different levels of the same work, in order to benefit schoolchildren in the cost of transportation".

Once the calendars have been made with the dates of the 97 activities offered, the centers are notified and the teaching material is sent to them through a delivery company.

“It is a complete and varied program so that our students can access the possibilities and learning opportunities offered by our city,†says Belén López.
