The faculties of Chemistry and Economics and Business get the Institutional Accreditation of ANECA (11/11/2019)

The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) has reported the granting of the Institutional Accreditation to the faculties of Chemistry and Economics and Business.

In order to obtain this accreditation, previously, all the bachelor's and master's degrees of both centers obtained the renewal of the accreditation and ANECA certified the operation of their internal quality assurance systems as a sign of educational excellence and process quality that develop in both faculties.

As proof of these quality controls, these centers obtained the Audit certificate last July;

requirement for the achievement of Institutional Accreditation.

Economy and Business and Chemistry thus add to the faculties of Biology, Veterinary and Computer Science, which already have this ANECA certification.

The Agency, in the development of the Quality Forum, organized last week in the town of Almagro, reported that the University of Murcia is the third in Spain with more accredited centers.

ANECA launched the institutional accreditation program through Royal Decree 420/2015 as an alternative to the renewal model established in the ACREDITA program in the search for simplification of this evaluation process that requires many efforts for universities and evaluation agency.

Achieving this Institutional Accreditation, in addition to assuming a quality seal for the faculties that obtain it, also implies that future accreditation renewal processes for their degrees will be more simplified.

What initially seemed like a supplementary procedure to the revision of the quality assurance system is becoming another merit for universities due to the complexity of obtaining the program requirements.

In fact, the UMU, in addition to being the third nationwide, is the only university in the Region of Murcia that has institutional accreditations.

The Office of the Vice President for Quality, Culture and Communication, through the Unit for Quality, is promoting various lines of work to promote the achievement of this badge by the rest of the faculties.

This objective is part of the clear and determined commitment of the University of Murcia for quality management in our institution.
