Murcia triumphs in the II Spanish Week of Slovakia (10/11/2019)

The capital of Murcia was one of the places that aroused most interest in the II edition of the Spanish Week in Slovakia, held in Bratislava in October.

Murcia City Council provided traditional recipe books from La Huerta, as well as Murcia magazines and brochures for this occasion.

The material was requested and distributed by a Murcian family, to bring Murcia's traditions closer to the Slovak community.

Murcia became one of the leading locations during the second edition of the Spanish Week in Slovakia, held in Bratislava in October, whose objective is to bring Spanish culture closer to the Slovak community through activities related to art, music, tourism, shows and gastronomy, among other areas.

The City of Murcia participated in this initiative, providing traditional recipe books from the Garden, Murcia magazines and brochures to the attendees.

The Spanish Week in Slovakia meant the deployment of about twenty activities for the whole family.

Success of the Murcian cookbooks

One of the most successful workshops was the Spanish Cooking Workshop, aimed at chefs and hoteliers in Bratislava, to whom the Murcian recipes of the City of Murcia were distributed, which were highly applauded by the attendees.

Also, during the Spanish Week in Slovakia, catalogs of the city of Murcia and brochures were also distributed at the conference 'The Way of Saint James'.

With the help and enthusiasm of a Murcian family

Publicizing the city of Murcia and its cuisine during the Spanish Week in Slovakia was made possible by the enthusiasm and effort of Carmen Ezcurra from Murcia, who currently resides in Bratislava with her family.

In early September, this family requested the sending of catalogs or brochures from the city of Murcia to Bratislava.

Upon receiving them, they were distributed during the Spanish Week in Slovakia, making the city of Murcia known in this great event.

Specifically, her little daughter - one of the people who, by chance, starred in the Spring Festival 2018 campaign -, together with one of her current friends, also from Murcia, distributed the catalogs and brochures wearing the characteristic attire of the Huerta, with the huertana suit.

Likewise, they were in charge of distributing the traditional Murcia recipe books in the Cooking Workshop specialized in Spanish skewers and tapas, aimed at restaurant and hotel chefs in Bratislava.

“With all my heart, I thank all the people who have made this initiative possible, especially the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and his government team, who with so much care and attention attended to us when we requested the material from Murcia, supporting us to give to know our land all over the world and making it possible, â€said Carmen Ezcurra.
