The Councilor for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, has visited this morning the facilities of Traperos de Emmaus to know first hand the work done by this association that has been serving in the Region of Murcia since 1995.
From the City Council, a municipal aid of 50,000 euros is destined for its program of Comprehensive Care for Social and Labor Insertion in Employment, specifically, to develop the project "Psychotherapeutic Care and Promotion of Volunteering" that since 2005 It has remained current.
Among the objectives of this entity is to promote the autonomy of the most needy people, manage the resources necessary for basic social and health care, promote measures of social support and family mediation for people who need it, and also coordinate educational aspects of accompaniment with social skills training.
In addition, Emmaus Rags offer individual, group therapy, addiction support, social skills training, orientation and training workshops for job placement.
This organization works for the promotion of volunteering among people of all ages of the municipality in order for volunteers to collaborate contributing their training and experience, participate in the different workshops and activities that are carried out or making donations of things that they no longer use to Traces of Trapers.
Among the most demanded services of Emma's Rags is the collection or removal of household goods, a program that recovers and takes advantage of the greatest possible amount (minimum 75%) of the objects and materials collected through the bulky service with the objective of that these objects and materials return to the utility circuit, either through the raw materials that compose them or as such objects for retail use.
They also offer other services such as paper and cardboard collection, cleaning of buildings, transfers, waste collection of electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and luminaires and rental of facilities
