The Murcia Lan Party celebrates its coming of age with more than 90 hours of high speed navigation and virtual reality games (01/11/2019)

Murcia becomes the national headquarters of computer games until Sunday.

José Ballesta visited this great event, which involves the deployment of more than twenty activities, including conferences, tournaments and workshops.

More than 1,000 people will go through this edition of the Murcia Lan Party, in the Palacio de los Deportes, which brings virtual reality games as a novelty.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited Murcia Lan Party this morning, which this year celebrates its 18th edition with more than twenty activities, including tournaments, competitions, conferences and workshops, and whose headquarters is the Palacio de los Deportes.

"This is an event that has become a national benchmark, with which innovation, leisure and youth participation are encouraged," said the mayor of Murcia, who added that "more and more people are interested in attending this party, which will bring together more than a thousand people in this edition â€.

Of those attending this event, about 60% are Murcia, of which 30% were born in the municipality of Murcia, and 40% come from outside the Region.

The event was attended by the president of the Murcia Lan Party Association, David Valero.

The event, organized by the City of Murcia together with the Association of the University of Murcia Murcia Lan Party, and in collaboration with Telefónica Movistar, was inaugurated this Wednesday.

The activities will conclude tomorrow, with the awards ceremony, at 00:30.

The disconnection of the network will take place on Sunday at 13 hours.

94 hours of uninterrupted navigation at very high speed

The Murcia Lan Party is bringing together more than a thousand computer lovers, who have the possibility of enjoying 94 uninterrupted hours of high speed navigation, as well as 10,800 meters of data network cable and 4,200 meters of electrical cable, putting at your disposal a total of 2,250 plugs.

Since 2001, the year in which the first edition of this event was held, the Murcia Lan Party has received various awards that guarantee its quality, such as the Best Young Initiative award, awarded by the Institute of Youth of the Region of Murcia .

Virtual reality, drones and 'Escape room'

Among the main novelties of this edition, a new room for visitors and participants stands out, in which virtual reality games and radio controlled car circuits are taking place, among other activities.

Likewise, participants will be able to access workshop, conference, dining and canteen rooms, as well as the covered camping area, among other spaces.

It also highlights the workshop to learn how to ride drones, which will be held this afternoon at 7 pm, in addition to the 'Escape Room' activities, which will be held until Saturday, from 11 am to 2:30 pm and from 5 pm to 5 pm 20:30 hours

Likewise, the Sports Palace is hosting informative talks and workshops on the separation of waste and the reduction of their production.

Tournaments and competitions

Fornite, League of Legends, Counter Strike GO, Overwatch, HeartStone, RocketLeague, Tekken 7, Fifa 20, Super Smash Bross Wii U and Mario Kart 8 tournaments are being held during the 18th edition of this great event. table football and karaoke, among other activities.
