Applicants for social assistance will be exempted from being up to date with their tax obligations (31/10/2019)

The Municipal Plenary approved, in its session this morning, the modification of the Municipal Ordinance regulating municipal economic aid for the attention of social needs.

This will allow aid applicants to be exempted from the requirement established by the General Subsidies Law to be up to date in compliance with tax obligations.

This General Law of Subsidies, in its article 13, establishes as a condition to obtain a subsidy that the beneficiary of the same is up to date in the fulfillment of their tax obligations and with Social Security.

Compliance in this case would in most cases prevent access to aid for the vast majority of the beneficiaries.

This modification will affect the set of non-periodic economic aids and benefits intended to alleviate or resolve social emergency situations, to prevent situations of social exclusion and to favor the full social integration of population sectors that lack their own economic resources for care. of your basic needs.
