Parks and Gardens prune the more than 20,000 mulberry trees in the municipality for the winter (30/10/2019)

These tasks seek to reduce the inconvenience that could be given to buildings or vehicles and thus achieve a better integration of nature.

The works are carried out until mid-December by five teams of professionals, of seven people each.

"The main objective is always the safety of our neighbors. These actions prevent the fruits of the mulberries from falling to the sidewalks of Murcia and its districts, and that the autumn leaves do not cause problems for the pedestrians," explains the mayor of Development Urban and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén.

The City of Murcia is carrying out the pruning work of the more than 20,000 mulberry trees in the municipality, tasks that are carried out by professionals always complying with the strictest safety measures, both for those responsible for carrying out this work and for citizens .

These actions prevent the fruits of the mulberries from falling to the sidewalks of Murcia and its districts, and that the autumn leaves do not cause problems for the pedestrians, â€explains the mayor of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén.

Also, these prunings seek to reduce the inconvenience that could be given to buildings or vehicles and thus achieve a better integration of nature in the day-to-day life of Murcia.

The first of the actions carried out is the tertiary alignment of copies and walks, after which training and maintenance pruning is carried out to the remaining copies located inside the different parks of Murcia capital and districts.

"In addition, from the Department is still betting on the biological cycle of life, which allows many of the branches that are pruned to be crushed and their remains are spread as a 'green' and free fertilizer for the green areas that need, â€says the mayor.

These works are carried out until mid-December by five teams of professionals, of seven people each, from the STV-Actúa concessionary company.

Thus, this action is carried out using the 'EPIS' (individual protective equipment) that usually include, among other things, safety glasses, ropes, visors and harnesses.
