The Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i) of the University of Murcia (UMU) begins its cycle of conferences of the new course with the researcher Ildefonso Méndez Martínez, on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hall of Scope Cultural of the English Court.
Is education in Spain preparing our sons and daughters for the future? Do parents have the knowledge and tools necessary to help them develop? In what sense should reform, according to scientific evidence, go? of the Spanish education system to contribute more to your long-term well-being?
Under the name 'How to educate in the 21st century: guideline for parents and teachers', Ildefonso Méndez will address the changes that must occur in education so that boys and girls have adequate resources in order to achieve happiness, as well as Personal and professional success.
And, the new times, characterized by smaller families, greater presence of technological devices at an early age and lower quality time with parents due to the lack of conciliation, require a reorientation of education.
Méndez Martínez's conference will therefore answer these questions by offering concrete tools, based on the most robust scientific evidence, to develop the key skills for your well-being both in the classroom and at home.
About the speaker
Ildefonso Méndez Martínez is principal investigator of the 'Educate to Be' project and director of the Center for Studies in Non-Cognitive Skills and Economic Evaluation of the UMU.
He also leads projects financed, among others, by the Ramón Areces Foundation, Seneca Foundation, Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
In addition, he is an education consultant for the OECD and the IEA.
This project has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
