128 young Murcians have toured Europe this summer thanks to the Youth Exchange Plan (26/10/2019)

The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, attended last night the meeting with young people who have participated in the XIII edition of the Municipal Plan for Youth Exchanges 2019 that was held at the headquarters of the Institute of Secondary Education Licensed Francisco Cascales.

During the meeting the young people have remembered the experiences lived in their respective exchanges with their peers and with the leaders of the groups.

In addition, the groups of the Language Club of the 2019-2020 course have attended, in order to show them all the activities that are carried out during the summers so that they can check in first person and in a very close way the possibility of participating in these programs

Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez has explained that "we intend with this meeting that the young participants have prominence to remember their emotions, remembering images and moments."

During the event, in which all the groups have participated in different animation activities, a projection of a video and photographs of the activities carried out and a final activity in which all the participants have actively participated in a show have been offered .

In addition, this year there has been the participation of the cooking students of the Training Program of the Municipal Employment Service, who have offered a snack to the attendees.

The City Council has organized 14 youth exchange programs this year with funding from the European Union, thanks to which 128 young Murcians have traveled to Europe thanks to the Erasmus Plus Program.

This initiative has been developed in cities in 10 countries, specifically Liechtenstein, Greece, Italy, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Estonia and Estonia.

The Municipal Plan for International Exchanges, which this year 2019 has reached its twenty-third edition, in addition to giving a European dimension to the activities proposed by the City Council of Murcia to the youngest citizens of the municipality, aims to promote the knowledge of the countries of the European Union through the relationship between people from different backgrounds and cultures, favor the practice of other languages, enable the exchange of ideas on those topics of common interest with young people from other countries and promote knowledge of Spain in general and Murcia in particular: ways of life, customs, etc.

All projects are subsidized by the European Commission.

Erasmus Plus Program, Youth.

The projects are coordinated by European organizations and in all a minimum of 3 European countries participate, all with groups that make up the same number of young people per participating country.

Most of the organizations that participate, either as project coordinator or as partners, belong to the Platform Network, a network of European organizations for international work with young people, to which the City of Murcia belongs.

The groups are accompanied by specialized monitors in the field of exchange, with experience in international activities and language skills.

The duration of the projects ranges from 7 to 13 days.

The exchanges that have been offered this year have been in Germany ("Europe needs our dialogue", from July 8 to 15), Belgium ("Europe, our heritage", from July 14 to 20), Luxembourg ("Outdoor + ", from July 19 to 26), Luxembourg (" 35 International Semana of Music ", from July 19 to 29), Alemánia (" Eurovisionen ", from July 21 to 28), Greece (" Eurojazz ", from July 22-29), Germany ("Leisure Time Creativity", from July 27 to August 3), Estonia ("Healthy Mind in Healthy Body", from July 27 to August 7), Belgium (" Back to our roots ", from July 29 to August 7), Estonia (" Healthy Mind in Healthy Body ", from August 6 to 17), Liechtenstein (" Good times ", from August 9 to 18), Italy (", no one" from August 26 to September 4), Greece ("Act for human rights", from August 25 to 30), Germany ("Music-Cultural Heritage", from August 21 to 28) .
