18 shows will celebrate the coming of age of the International Festival of Puppet Theater of the Region of Murcia (25/10/2019)

Titeremurcia celebrates its 18th edition with the visit of 15 national companies from Seville, Cádiz, Barcelona, ​​Lleida, Tarragona, Zaragoza, La Rioja, Madrid, Salamanca, Burgos and Guadalajara, as well as Murcia.

They will be joined by an international company from the Czech Republic.

The International Puppet Theater Festival of the Region of Murcia will be held from November 8 to 18 and will offer 18 puppet and object theater shows that total a total of 35 functions.

Different municipal spaces will host shows such as the Teatro Circo Murcia (3 shows), Municipal Auditoriums of Guadalupe, Cabezo de Torres, La Alberca and Algezares (4 family shows and 8 exclusive functions for schoolchildren), Bernal Theater (2 family shows), and Romea Square (2 free family shows).

In addition the functions will be held in other spaces located in Murcia (Pupaclown Scenic Center, Párraga Center, Casanova Trinitarian Foundation, La Madriguera and Regional Film Library) and in the region (Villa de Molina Theater, Vico de Jumilla Theater, San Pedro del Pinatar, City Hall of Los Alcázares and El Síscar de Santomera Theater)

Family programming

- BLANCANIEVES, of the company Luna Teatro Danza (Madrid), will be at the Municipal Auditorium of Guadalupe in school and family functions (Nov. 9) and at the Teatro Vico (Nov. 10) Directed by Pablo Vergne this version of the story Classic surprises unexpected turns, as this Snow White does not believe in blue princes.

- A STORY OF THE WIND, from the Pavel Smid Theater company (Czech Republic), will be in San Pedro del Pinatar (Nov. 9) and at the Pupaclown Scenic Center (Nov. 10).

A show full of songs, humor and interaction with the public.

- VIDA, of the company Javier Aranda (Zaragoza), which in 2017 won the Best Theater Performance Award for "Parias", brings us its new show awarded as Best Theater Show XXXI International Huesca Fair 2018, FETEN Award Best Show of Small format 2018, Drac D´or Julieta Agustí For Best Show, Award for Best Show of the International Jury and Award for Best Show of the Jury, Fira de Titelles Lleida 2018. It can be enjoyed in Los Alcázares (Nov. 9) and in the Párraga Center (Nov. 10).

- THE TREASURE OF BARRACUDA, by A la Sombrita Títeres (Seville), can be seen at the Municipal Auditorium of Cabezo de Torres (Nov. 10).

A theater show of contemporary shadows based on the adaptation of the award-winning homonymous novel by the writer and playwright Llanos Campos Martínez.

- PAZZZZZZ, from the Murcia company Teatro de Carmen in collaboration with the CoCreatio Network, can be seen at the Bernal Theater (Nov. 10).

Carmen Navarro (Teatro de Carmen) is the adapter of the literary text and creator of the dramaturgy of this show, with a staging with puppet theater and live music.

Teatro de Carmen will repeat at the Bernal Theater on Sunday, November 17 with its show Ana de las Verjas Verdes.

- HUBO, from the company El Patio Teatro (La Rioja) has been the Feten Prize for Best Puppet Show 2019. Teatro Circo Murcia Nov 13.

A speechless show that speaks of love, loss, loneliness, memory and roots;

a tribute to the villages, the rural world and the people who inhabit it, which we recommend for both family and adult audiences.

- PELOLOCO, from the Mimaia Theater company (Murcia-Catalonia), can be enjoyed in Pupaclown (Nov 16) and at the Vico de Jumilla Theater (Nov 17).

Directed by Dora Cantero, Peloloco is a story of light and shadows that invites a reflection on the visible and the invisible, on the origin, the end and the value of the things that surround our lives.

Mimaia Teatro will also be on November 15 at La Madriguera de Beniaján, with its award-winning show Goodbye Welcome that has already visited us at the festival in past editions.

- THE SECRET OF THE STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD of the company Caracartón Títeres de Sevilla, is the image chosen this year to represent the festival.

The show can be seen on Nov 16.

at the El Síscar Theater and on Nov. 17.

in Los Alcázares, both shows with free admission.

A work full of emotion where we will discover deeply guarded secrets.

- GOODBYE PETER PAN of the Festuc Teatre company (Lleida), will be on Nov. 16.

in the Municipal Auditorium of La Alberca.

Castilla León Theater Fair 2018. Show recommended by the Spanish Network of Theaters and Auditoriums of public ownership, we are facing an exciting adaptation of the classic story that talks about the link between children and their grandparents that brings us back to the Festuc to Murcia.

- CLOUD CLOUD by Periferia Teatro (Murcia) is an ABSOLUTE PREMIERE produced with the help of Teatro Circo de Murcia that we can see in this space on November 17.

Cloud Cloud is a poetic game, about what we are capable of doing for love.

- LAIKA of the company Xirriquiteula (Barcelona), is another of the most awarded shows that we can see at the Villa de Molina Theater on Nov. 17.

Laika, the first astronaut dog, inspires an original show that tells in a very visual way, a fundamental episode in the history of space travel.

For street shows, this year there are 2 companies that will represent 2 shows in the Romea Theater Square (November 10 and 17 at 1 p.m.) for free.

Thus, you can enjoy the play The Puppet Circus of the Burgos company Alauda Teatro (November 10), and the play La Sirena Hidraúlica, the last creation of the Matito company (November 17).

This year the 2019 school campaign is formed by 4 shows represented at the Municipal Auditoriums of Murcia: Snow White in Guadalupe, The Treasure of Barracuda in Cabezo de Torres, Goodbye Peter Pan in La Alberca and Romeo and Juliet.

Each one is presented in 2 passes in exclusive school hours for schools, where companies also offer pedagogical dossiers to work on them in the classrooms.

Youth and adult programming

Three programming shows are specifically intended for adult audiences.

- LA OSADÃA, of the company La Chana Teatro (Salamanca) will be at the Teatro Circo Murcia on Nov. 8.

La Chana Teatro, who has already visited us on other occasions, won the Best Titeremurcia Show Award 2018 for his work "Del Lazarillo de Tormes", brings us his latest creation, a sly and scathing version of The Odyssey that shows one of the best creators of the theater of objects of the national scene

- MAR A plastic speech through space, by the company Andrea Díaz Reboredo (Madrid), will be at the Casanova Trinitarian Foundation on November 14, with free admission with invitation.

MAR is a journey through materials such as wood, paper, photographs, everyday utensils, drawings ... that, together with a body exercise of precise movements, build a thinking space in constant movement.

- ROMEO Y JULIETA of the Ultramarinos de Lucas company (Guadalajara), will be at the Algezares Municipal Auditorium on Nov. 17.

Lucas Groceries (National Award for Performing Arts for Children and Youth 2015) conceives a staging where a single actor incorporates each of the characters through his arms and hands driving the scenic action and guiding the imagination of the spectators through the different scenarios of the beautiful Verona.

Complete the programming, the animated film EL PRINCIPITO by Mark Osborne that can be watched for free thanks to the Regional Film Library on November 14.

Titeremurcia is an initiative of the non-profit association UNIMA Murcia (Union of Marionetistas) created in 1991 for the promotion and dissemination of puppet art in our region.

Associated with Unima Spain and Unima International, the latter is recognized by UNESCO for its work in spreading the ancient art of puppets.
