The City Council today celebrates Library Day with stories for the elderly, magic for children and music recitals (24/10/2019)

The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, invites all Murcia to participate in the activities scheduled in 'Río Segura', Cabezo de Torres, 'Chronicler Antonio Botías',' San Basilio ',' Espinardo ',' Javalí New ',' José Saramago ',' Santiago el Mayor ', El Raal, Puente Tocinos, El Palmar, La Ñora, La Alberca, Beniaján, El Puntal,' El Carmen ', Guadalupe and the' Saavedra Fajardo 'Library.

Literary meetings, scientific workshops, musical recitals and storytelling make up the program that the Municipal Library Network of Murcia offers for all citizens on the occasion of Library Day, which is celebrated today.

The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, has attended some of the scheduled activities such as the reading club held yesterday at the 'José Saramago' Library with the presence of the writer Miguel Ángel Hernández, prize for the Murcian Book of the Year 2019 .

This morning he has also attended a performance by Abel El Mago, in the library 'La Alberca', and this afternoon he will go to the viola recital and key in charge of 'The Tempest', which will take place at the Río Segura Library, at 20.00 hours

Throughout the week, activities are being carried out to commemorate this day, which has been celebrated since 1997 in memory of the destruction of the Sarajevo Library, burned down in 1992 during the Balkan conflict.

"From the Department of Urban Agenda we want to encourage all Murcia to participate in this celebration, which promotes the promotion of reading and promotes culture, in a more fun and fun way," says the mayor.
