The PSOE is "impressed" by the accusations of Gomez and demands the revision of large contracts already (22/10/2019)

The spokesman, José Antonio Serrano, says that "the statements of the first deputy mayor sow a very serious suspicion about a supposed collusion between the City Council and companies in the award of contracts that we should not miss"

The Socialist Municipal Group is surprised by the recent statements of the first deputy mayor and councilor for Development, Mario Gómez, in which he alluded to custom designed contracts and threatened to cut off interference so as not to incur illegality in certain bidding processes.

Therefore, "in the PSOE we are absolutely impressed by these statements that sow a very serious suspicion about a supposed collusion between the City of Murcia and companies when awarding municipal contracts, which we should not ignore," says the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano

In this regard, he points out that "it is Mario Gómez who presides over the Contracting Board, where we in this mandate are not, in the previous one, and it has been PP and Citizens who have hindered the participation of the PSOE. Of course, as the main group of the opposition and because of this shadow of doubt spread by the first deputy mayor, our presence is necessary, so, once again, we demand to be in this body. "

"But it is more, in a motion we will demand the urgent and uninterrupted call of the Commission of Review of Great Contracts, that we raised at the beginning of the previous mandate and that after a few meetings it was paralyzed", declares Serrano who adds that "we cannot let these statements pass because they are a full-fledged accusation by someone who is number 2 of the municipal government and, in addition, responsible for hiring. "

He insists that "we have it clear: It is necessary, urgently, the conclusion of the Commission for the Review of Large Contracts, but we also want to request the participation of political groups and experts in each of the subject areas of those contracts with the condition of not having been in the award process. "

In this regard, he points out that "we must start with the Parks and Gardens, of almost 60 million euros, which is what Mr. Gomez seems to call into question, and continue with the road cleaning and management contracts for tributes. "

Precisely, the revision of the large contracts, which was proposed by the PSOE, was one of the requirements of Citizens for the government agreement with the PP.

"The first point of that pact has already been skipped, which said they were not going to raise taxes, and now they forget the control in the awards, which are mortgaging the management of this City Council, something that we have been denouncing for years tirelessly, "he says.
