The PSOE asks for explanations regarding the duplication of expenses in the Parks and Gardens service (18/10/2019)

The Government Board has just approved an extra expense of 235,661.93 euros to reform various gardens in Murcia, but the government team two months ago awarded a contract of 60 million euros, and of them there are 3.6 million allocated euros for punctual improvements in gardens.

The Municipal Socialist Group asks for explanations regarding what seems like a lack of foresight by the government team, regarding the planning of the Parks and Gardens service.

Councilman Antonio Benito says that "on August 27, 7 lots worth almost 60 million euros were awarded for the conservation, maintenance and restoration of the gardens, among other concepts, and on October 11, the Government Board approved an expense of 235,661.93 euros for the hiring of unemployed personnel in order to execute the project "Reforms in various gardens of Murcia and districts".

Antonio Benito affirms that "we do not give credit to this situation. Every year a huge amount of money leaves for the municipal coffers for parks and gardens that a private company manages. But now we draw up a plan with a similar concept where the city council spends more money. The PP and Citizens Government team will have to explain very well why this duplicity is due. "

In the contract of parks and gardens recently awarded there is a concept called Plan for tuning in gardens, and according to Antonio Benito "there are 3.6 million euros for the development of 20 gardens, but just approve take a new one for a similar concept. Perhaps with a good planning one could have added a generic item for the same concept. "

"In the PSOE we totally agree to make agreements and agreements with the SEF to favor the creation of employment and of course the hiring of labor personnel by the City Council, but it is assumed that for this we are already paying a contract." the concilor.

Finally Benito proposes that "for this reason and to avoid doubts and suspicions we ask José Guillén to explain why this work is not done by the company that was left with the award of the service less than two months ago. Or are they recognizing that the contract we just awarded was wrong? "
